The 4th was awesome, we had a great time. We went to Nana's house for a bbq, and she invited some new people from her ward. Mikayla played with a 6 yr old girl named Ruthie, and it was cute to watch them together. It was so nice to have a cool day for the 4th, very different from all the previous years! We ate and then went down to the field to watch the fireworks. Mikayla ran around and found a giant wet marsh area and her shoes got soaked and muddy. She loved the fireworks that were far away (i.e. Golden), but when they started for us she FREAKED out. She clung to Ian, and he sang her songs the whole time. He's such a good daddy. :)

This week has been interesting. We've had doctor appointments for various things the last two weeks. I'm trying to get them all out of the way and not procrastinate them anymore. The dentist is next, then we should be all done! Mikayla went Thursday and weighs 25.5 lbs (30th %), 36" tall (80th %), and she has a tiny head. LoL We figured that's why her body looks more proportional compared to other kids, 'cause her head is so small! LoL We also discovered her top teeth are sticking out a bit, so we figured it's time to really go after ending the pacifier. I never wanted her to be on it this long, but didn't have the energy to really fight it. Yesterday was our first day, and after the whole afternoon asking about it, she did really well! She can only have it at bedtime for the time being. We also had her sleep in her big girl bed after buying a new side bar for it that actually works. She did great! We plan on taking down the crib in the next couple days. It was nice to have a place to put her where she couldn't escape, but she's just too old. It doesn't seem comfy anyway.

So that's that! Gotta trim her bangs now...
