Our fourth anniversary was wednesday the 24th this week, and it's so cRaZy to think we've been married for four years. We've done so much in that time, it feels longer than that, but it's gone by really fast. We moved to Seattle, I found a job, we moved again, I was pregnant with Mikayla, we moved back to Colorado, Ian finished school and got his job at Net Devil, Mikayla was born, we bought our house, and here we are now.

To celebrate our anniversary, we decided to spend the day doing fun things locally. Nana came over and played with Mikayla ALL day, and they had a blast. We're so blessed having family nearby! Ian and I started off the day heading to a reservoir about 20 minutes west of Boulder to fish. We sat in a traffic jam at the end of Hwy 36, and hit a rain storm once we got in the mountains. What should have been about a 40 minute drive to the reservoir took at least an hour. We got to the lake (lake is shorter to write than reservoir), and found a nice spot to settle in to. Luckily rain hadn't hit that area yet, so everything was dry, although we did see some dark clouds in the distance. We decided once it started sprinkling we would pack up and wait it out before resuming fishing. We finally got the lines set and cast in the first pole, when the sprinkles hit. Having brought a giant umbrella, we figured we could wait a few more minutes. The rain start POURING down, and we packed up and ran back to the car. By the time we got there, both our pants were muddy and soaked, as well as Ian's shirt. We were literally DRIPPING wet. The parking lot was quickly filling with water, so we figured we'd leave.

We headed back to our house and beat the rain and changed into dry clothes. Then the rain hit our area and we knew we were screwed as far as fishing goes. We decided to see Transformers earlier than we planned. It was a great movie! The 2. 5 hours went by quickly. After the movie it was sunny and dry, so we headed to the Arvada Reservoir to fish. I hate that they charge you there -- it's $3 to walk in and fish/hike, or $5 for a car. We only had $3 in cash on us, so we walked in. Turns out it's $3 per person, but the old man didn't realize it till we left and said "oh well". Our two hours there went by in a flash, and all we got was something stealing my bait once. It was so relaxing to just sit by the water though. We left there and went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. It was so yummy! It's been a long time since we've been there. On our way home we picked up some icecream for dessert and "Yes Man" to watch before bed. Mikayla was already asleep when we got home (score!) and we chatted with Nana a bit before saying goodnight. "Yes Man" was one of Jim Carrey's better message movie in my opinion. Towards the end I was sitting on the floor while Ian rubbed my back when a GIANT black spider made a run for it right in front of me. I hate spiders, and as per our marital contract Ian ran after it to capture it. In the end Ian won, but he did lose a sock in the fight.

All in all it was a fun day! I can't believe that Independence day is next WEEK. Where does the time go?
