We stopped by the Broomfield easter egg hunt on saturday. It was a bust. Madness, too.
First, Mikayla met the easter bunny. This is her running away from him.

This is the 0-2 yr old section of the easter egg hunt. As you can see, they just dumped the eggs in the middle of the small field, and parents started racing for them with their kids. Mika only got 3 pieces of candy, but had fun running through people's legs!

Mika got a balloon from the egg hunt though, and she LOVES balloons!

We came home and Mikayla started tattooing Ian with stickers.

We colored easter eggs. It didn't go over very well. Mikayla was getting sleepy, and thought the eggs were for dipping -- like with ketchup. Dye isn't so yummy. :)

After nap time we went to the park to do our own egg hunt there, becaus sunday was going to be too busy. Mikayla loved it!

That was pretty much our saturday. We've decided next year not to go to a city egg hunt, and try to get together with some other parents to do our own hunt at a nearby park. Less chaos and better goodies.
We also filled out the paper work to refinance our house. It's going FAST! We locked in a rate of 4.625% today and the order for the appraisal went in today. It's going to be a bit of a rush trying to get the inside super presentable, because if we can get our house to appraise a bit higher, we might be able to avoid having to have mortgage insurnace which would be awesome!
Sunday was a busy but fun day. We went to church in the morning and nursery went surprisingly well. We even managed to get in an easter lesson! We asked that one more person be assigned to the nursery though, because there's too many cryers and one violent kid, and it's impossible to have any hope of continuous order in there. We really want the kids to benefit from nursery and have it be more than just the drop off zoo for two hours. It's going to take some effort, but we're still hopeful about it! LoL The kids started breaking down right before noon. It took me all afternoon to unwind from that particular madness!
We came home and tried to get Mikayla to fall asleep. She did not, unfortunatley. We went to Nana's house for a pot luck easter dinner which was absolutely delicious. Lucy and her sister came by and it was awesome to visit with them a bit. Mikayla went nuts over candy, and today we're detoxifying from it and not having any more. Speaking of today, we spent almost two hours at the park! We met a little girl there named Mikayla (spelled the same way too!), and they had just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago. Her second birthday is only 6 days before Mika's, so it was crazy with all the similarities. Unless we put Mika in the Broomfield school system, they'll go to the same school and be in the same grade. Nuts! They also went down the double slides together and held hands, it was absolutely adorable!
