We woke up early to babysit Dylan again. He was not a happy camper being away from his mom, but when Ian's parents and Leon came over he was SO happy! Played and talked to everyone. When they left, he cried till his mom came again. Weird.
We had a nice visit to say goodbye to Leon over a lunch bbq. We all just chilled and chatted. The swamp cooler guy came and got that set up. It cost more than we were hoping, but hey, it was cheaper than Lowes by half! Last night we helped Sean & Christy move the last bit of their stuff to their new house and hung out with them for a bit afterwards. I think we were all pretty tired by then, as we all looked like zombies.
Today we slept in a bit. We relaxed in the morning and then ran some errands. Ian got a haircut finally (it was getting pretty shaggy), stopped by Target to get him new sunglasses, and then to Costco for gas. Mikayla was getting kinda antsy and we decided to be spontaneous and treat her to Ocean Journey. After going by there and recalling our past experiences in it not being worth the money 10 years ago, we figured the zoo would be a safer bet at least. So we went to the zoo and Mikayla was stoked for the monkeys! She also thoroughly enjoyed the train. She was more into the zoo experience than she was as a baby, but not quite as much as I was hoping. We'll hopefully get some good zoo days in with Nana this summer, which likely won't overlap with naptime like it did today.
After the zoo we went to Home Depot for the sealant for the swamp cooler. We decided we wanted to go to a gym again, because it was the only way we'd be consistent in exercising for now. We called around a bit and it was between Mountainside Fitness and 24 hour fitness. We decided to go to Mountainside first, since we'd done a free month thing at 24 hour in the past and knew what it was like. Mountainside rocked! Especially the childcare. We put Mikayla there while we toured the place, and when we went to pick her up 30 min later she did NOT want to go. Never has she done that in a new environment. Even when I leave the nursery room to get snacks she cries. That pretty much sold us. It had an initiation fee we had to pay upfront, unlike 24 hour, but after 12 months when all was said and done it's only $8 more. We're really excited about it though. When we try to workout in the basement she's stuck in her pack n play because it's too dangerous for her *not* to be in it, so it's really hard to workout together in the evenings like we've been wanting to. Now she can play with other kids 3x a week and we'll get healthy again. A win-win situation!
Now, here are a few pictures.
