Fun fun fun!

We had a nice weekend this weekend, and it went by too fast!

Saturday started a little bit earlier than we wanted with Mikayla waking up.
We always bring her in our room on the weekends and bounce around on the bed and such. This time she would lay down and say "nite nite!" and close her eyes, then jump up and say "boo!". Too cute.

We worked out a bit, then decided to find some open houses to see. Realtors ALWAYS want your business at open houses, so we came up with a fake identity. Ian is Mike Johnson and I'm Marcia Johnson. Mikayla stays Mikayla. :) At one house they were writing down our names for a guest book, and I said "Marcia Hall" instead of Johnson. Ooops. I said my mind slipped and it was my maiden name. LoL Maybe it's one of those things that's funnier when you're there... It's really neat to see the inside of other houses though. It gives you ideas for your own, as well as makes you appreciate what you have. Most of the houses we saw were $450k-$600k in the expensive areas. I still don't quite understand how SO many people can afford such houses, even with both working. Maybe they can't. Anyway, we saw one house that was $275k and in my opinion wasn't even worth that. It was a total fixer-upper like ours was when we bought it. Even then, with $25k worth of work done on it, I still wouldn't pay even $275k for it. It was small and felt even smaller than ours. It's interesting to see those differences though.

Mikayla took a nap that afternoon, and afterward we decided to treat ourselves to Red Robin. It was yummy delicious and Mikayla got a pink balloon. Unfortunately it untied from the bag and went to the ceiling, resulting in Mika pointing and very seriously saying "uh-oh". Afterwards we wandered around Lowes and daydreamed. It may not sound terribly exciting, but the day was fun for us.

Sunday rolled around and we went to church. It's weird that we're more on time with it starting at 9am than at 11am. Church was great fun, and although Mikayla didn't want to stay in nursery at first, she did, and seemed to have a good time.

We all napped in the afternoon, which is my favorite on those nice sunny days. Cat naps in the sun. mmm. We decided to hit the park for a few minutes before our church class that night. Unfortunatley only a few minutes after getting there, Mikayla tripped and got a big owie on her lip. I don't know why I took a picture.
Poor thing. She handled it well though, took it like a champ. We went to our church class at the Larson's house and enjoyed it. Mikayla had a 16 month old boy to play with, which was nice for her. The woman teaching the class inadvertantly loves legos, so that made for some great conversations in that department.

On our way home we stopped by Sean & Christy's for a few minutes to say hello and see their fancy new furniture. The funny thing is that it's our set! LoL We thought it looked awfully familiar. It looks good though, we approved their choice. :)

We came home and had a late dinner, watched a movie, and relaxed before bed. Mikayla amused herself by sitting in her toys. I like the first picture, she looks utterly confused at something on her hand. I think she was about to start a new rant about owies.

Cute new Mikayla things. She's REALLY good at imitating new words she hears. She always tells her babies "good girl" when they 'listen' to her. Our Veggie Tales cd has the song "this is my commandment that you love one another, that your joy may be full." So now Mikayla will randomly start singing "oor joooy maaa beee fuuwl". So adorable! She also really likes to play Drawn to Life (the last game Ian worked on). She loves to draw, but if I give her a couple crayons she just wants to sort them or hold them.
